National Ski Academy is Canada’s only independent secondary school focused on the pursuit of alpine ski racing excellence, academic achievement, and personal growth. Our programs have helped to develop Olympic, Ontario Team and National Team ski racers and many of the top coaches in the country. Our home base is located in Collingwood, Ontario, and provides state of the art facilities necessary for Canadian and international alpine athletes to pursue their ski racing dreams.
For families looking for a rewarding, character-building combination of athletic and academic excellence, the National Ski Academy (NSA) offers a unique choice. The campus is located in the historic Tornavene mansion and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities—modern classrooms, a gym, a weight room, a tuning room, and boarding accommodations, all complemented by chef-prepared meals. The athletic program at NSA combines technical ski training, physical conditioning, and psychological coaching with extensive on-snow sessions in Canada and abroad. The quadmester calendar ensures students can dedicate up to 120 days to ski training and competition each year without compromising their academic progress. Beyond athletics, NSA distinguishes itself by educating well-rounded individuals who are prepared to succeed in higher education, competitive skiing, and life. They have a proven history of alumni going to top universities and competing on the global stage. NSA embodies its ethos of preparing students to be “Racer Ready for Life.” This rare harmony of high-performance athletics and university-preparatory academics makes NSA an exceptional choice for families seeking a dynamic and challenging environment for their student-athletes.

For almost 40 years, National Ski Academy has provided an environment for talented student athletes to maximize their individual potential through the pursuit of alpine ski racing excellence, academic achievement and personal growth. NSA is the only secondary-school credit granting ski academy in Canada that provides this holistic program for student athletes.
National Ski Academy offers a rigorous university-preparatory academic program, coupled with a high-performance U16 and FIS ski program, including physical conditioning in our spacious on-site gym, all under one roof. Our student athletes spend on average 120 days on snow, without the stress of missed classes. Our experienced local and international coaching staff allow for a differentiated athletic programming with additional South American and European training and racing opportunities.
Thinking ahead to postsecondary, once our student athletes graduate from the Academy, they engage successfully in university programming, in some highly competitive faculties, all across Canada, as well as the US and UK. I invite you to explore our Alumni Postsecondary Destination map to learn more.
We offer a tuning facility, sessions on skier IQ, delicious and nutritious meals, the option to be a day student or to board in our student residence, significant postsecondary planning and support, scheduling and transportation logistics for camps and race series, and much more. Our small class sizes allow a very personalized approach to learning – and our teachers work collaboratively on executive functioning skill development.
I invite you to explore all that National Ski Academy offers by joining us for a day of training, sharing a meal with our school community, sitting in on an academic course and touring our facilities. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for more information. I look forward to hearing from you.
